Messi is best in the world: Luis Suarez

It isn’t really something different when a certain player says something about either Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and Messi’s Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez is now jumping on that bandwagon, insisting that the Real Madrid forward’s quality has deteriorated since he had started.

Speaking to Algerian football magazine Le Buteur, the former Liverpool and Ajax striker was quoted by Inside Spanish Football stating, "Messi is natural, it is his character.”

“He is the best in the world, but he was born with his qualities. Ronaldo has progressed and worked a lot to perform how he does. He's not at the same level he was when he started. I think Leo is the best," he added.

The Uruguayan striker also spoke up about struggling Liverpool striker, Mario Balotelli, commiserating the Italian striker who was supposed to fill in Suarez’s boots after his departure from the club.

"I think Balotelli has already played at some huge clubs and has proven to be a formidable player. It is not easy to do what he did at Manchester City,” he said. "After a spell in Italy, he moved to England, then returned to Italy and eventually move back to England again. That's been very difficult for him, but he remains a great player."

Also, when asked about his future and if he would ever play for an Arabic team, Suarez said, “Finish my career with an Arabic team? I don’t know. I could go to China, Japan, Qatar or the United States. At the moment, I’m enjoying myself at Barcelona.”
