Norwegian champion FC Molde have confirmed that Aston Villa have approached Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to manage the club, a few hours after Randy Lerner’s (owner) private jet was photographed in Norway. It is understood that the jet brought Solskjaer back to England and the 39-year-old is due to meet Randy Lerner. An announcement on Molde’s website read:
“Molde Football Club is aware of interest and contact from Aston Villa, and is aware that Aston Villa and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are talking together.”
“The management of Molde became aware of interest from Aston Villa just over two and a half days ago.”

Solskjaer is comparatively new to the management side of football, after having spent just one season at Molde, where he led them to their first ever league title.
Meanwhile, Andre Villas-Boas, who is widely tipped for the Liverpool job, is yet to receive an offer. The 34-year-old’s agent Carlos Goncalves has strongly denied the rumours. He told Calciomercatoweb:
“Villas-Boas follows football, but there have not been any official offers for him yet. If an interesting project comes about then we will certainly take it into consideration.”
