Another defender whose market value is steady at €40m is Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos. The only thing keeping his value from going any higher is probably his discipline.

Nevertheless, there was no better leader to take over the duties of wearing the captain's armband after Iker Casillas' exit two years ago. And the 31-year-old looks all set to finish his career at Real - at least as long as he stays in Europe.
