Nepal vs Jordan World Cup Qualifier Nepal 1-1 Jordan

Bharat Khawas

A fantastic game put up by the Nepal National team in the second leg of the second round World Cup Qualifier saw the host draw a much higher opponent Jordan at the Dashrath Rangsala Stadium on Thursday.

The 1-1 draw was a surprise result to all especially after Nepal was thrashed 9-0 in the first leg when they visited Aman. However, the home team yesterday lifted their game to few notches and put a fighting display in front of their home crowd.

Going into the half time with Jordan not being able to break the stalemate, they finally went ahead in the 62nd minute when midfielder Saeed Morja found the back of the net.

Nepal however kept the pressure on and finally drew level in the 80th minute through their 41 year old veteran striker Bharat Khawas, who came in as a substitute in the 66th minute.

Jordan however advances to the third round, thanks to the 9-0 rout in Aman in the first leg.
