Group D winners Netherlands thrashed Hungary 8-1 in the World Cup qualifiers as Robin van Persie scored a hat-trick and Kevin Strootman, Jermain Lens, Rafael Van der Vaart, Arjen Robben and a Szilard Devecseri own goal all contributed to the win. Balazs Dzsudzsak scored a penalty for Hungary but it wasn’t of any help.
