Cesc Fabregas: Does van Gaal really fancy the Catalan wizard?

Manchester United’s new manager Louis van Gaal is thought to be interested in signing former Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, according to the Daily Star.

Van Gaal, who was appointed officially as Man United’s new manager just days ago has already signalled his intention to sign several new players and told the club to sign Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, who is being quoted is having a £45 million price-tag hanging around his shoulders.

Apparently, United are also willing to make Fabregas one of their highest paid players ever, with a salary of £250,000 per-week to close in on Wayne Rooney’s record-breaking weekly wage.

Van Gaal called an end to United’s pursuit of Toni Kroos last week in his first major action as United boss and it seems his sights are now firmly set of Spanish World Cup winner Fabregas.

United attempted to sign Fabregas last summer in David Moyes’ first summer in charge and were left humiliated after a disaster transfer window that saw them spend too much on Marouane Fellaini, who flopped badly.

It is now thought that United will again move for Fabregas who failed to consistently nail down a starting place in Barcelona’s team.
