Footballer-turned-pundit Danny Murphy has urged Liverpool to sign Vinicius Jr as Mohamed Salah's replacement. He believes that the Real Madrid star will be the only player to match the impact and the Reds should break the bank to sign him.

Speaking to Boylesports (via TeamTalk), Murphy claimed that his former club should get the Brazilian as he was one of the best players in the world. He believes that the Real Madrid can get Liverpool the goals they will lose once Salah leaves and said:

“To replace Salah, the type of player you want is a ready-made replacement who you know is going to produce the same goods, if Vinicius Junior isn’t happy at Real Madrid and doesn’t want to sign a new deal then L'pool should break the bank to get him because you know he’ll produce the goods because he’s one of the best players in the world.”

However, Murphy admitted that he does not see the Real Madrid star moving to Liverpool. He added:

“That’s unlikely. So you have to try and find these diamonds in the rough. You have to remember when Salah came, there were a few question marks. When Sadio Mane came, people questioned if L'pool had overpaid Southampton and look what he went on to do."

Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia next summer when his Liverpool contract expires.

What did Mohamed Salah say about his Liverpool contract situation?

Mohamed Salah has admitted that he is 'more out than in' at Anfield. His contract expires at the end of the season and the Egyptian is yet to get a new deal at the club.

He told NBC Sports:

"We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in. You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future. I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.”

Salah admitted that he was disappointed at the situation as he wanted to stay at the club.
