Cristiano Ronaldo shared a message on social media after helping Portugal qualify for UEFA Euro 2024. Roberto Martinez's side sealed their spot at the tournament in Germany with a 3-2 home win over Slovakia on Friday (October 13).

Ronaldo was yet again at the forefront of his team's success, scoring twice. Paris Saint-Germain's Goncalo Ramos was the other goalscorer for Portugal. Reacting to the win, Ronaldo posted on Instagram (as translated from Portuguese):

"We're at EURO 2024! Very happy to help Portugal reach another final stage of a great competition. A special thanks to the Portuguese Football Federation and to the fans present at the stadium for the beautiful tribute!"

The clash against Slovakia marked Cristiano Ronaldo's 202nd international appearance. However, it was his first home game for Portugal after becoming the only men's player to make 200 international appearances, which he did in the 1-0 win at Iceland in June.

The 38-year-old was feted warmly by fans and the Portugal football association. Ronaldo celebrated the occasion by extending his record as international men's football's highest goalscorer with his 124th and 125th goals on the night.

The win extended Portugal's perfect start to their UEFA Euro qualifying campaign to seven games. Roberto Martinez's side have scored 27 times and conceded only twice - both against Slovakia on Friday.

What is Cristiano Ronaldo's record in the UEFA Euros, including qualifying?

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most decorated players in international football. He won the UEFA Euro in 2016, marking his first international trophy.

Ronaldo is the highest goalscorer in the history of the competition, with 14 goals in 25 games. He has also scored 38 times in 41 qualifying games, which is another record.

He's now set to appear in a record-extending sixth European Championship, with no other player doing so in more than four. The Portugal captain also holds the record of scoring in most European Championships (5), a mark he will look to extend in the Germany finals next year.
