Former MMA fighter-turned-boxer Darren Till has called out Manchester United legends Gary Neville and Cristiano Ronaldo for a fight. Till, who is a Liverpool supporter, is actually keen on fighting with Neville, as he claimed that he and the United defender are at odds.
However, he stated that he would love to face off with Ronaldo in the ring due to the physique of the Portuguese icon. Cristiano Ronaldo, 39, currently plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, while Gary Neville is a pundit on Sky Sports.
The Liverpool vs. Manchester United rivalry is one of the biggest rivalries in Premier League history.
Till, who is a Liverpool-born and a lifelong Liverpool fan, seems to have had animosity for some Manchester United legends back then. The former UFC fighter had now taken the beef with his rivals to another level, calling them to come fight with him inside an octagon.
"I would like to fight Gary Neville because he and I have had a problem on Twitter," Till told Norske Bettingsider. "He doesn't like me. I have a bit of a problem with Gary."
"I don't hate the guy. But yeah, it would probably be a fight against Gary Neville or Cristiano Ronaldo, because Cristiano looks like a big, tough guy. I'd like to see his speed and power. He looks like a very explosive man," Till added.
Till, who left UFC in 2023, will return to the ring as a boxer in January when he faces Tommy Fury on the Misfits Boxing card at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena.
When Cristiano Ronaldo thanked Liverpool fans for tribute following the death of his newborn son
In April 2022, Liverpool fans allowed their emotions to prevail over rivalry as they showed support for Cristiano Ronaldo after he announced that his child had died. In October 2021, Ronaldo and his wife, Georgina Rodriguez, announced that they were expecting twins—a boy and a girl. However, tragedy struck in 2022 as Ronaldo took to his Instagram to announce that their baby boy died.
In a Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester at Anfield, the Anfield faithful gave Ronaldo a standing ovation, singing You'll Never Walk Alone" while their United counterparts applauded.
After the match, Ronaldo took to his Instagram to thank the Liverpool fans for their support. The Portuguese icon wrote:
"One world... One sport... One global family... Thanks, Anfield. Me and my family will never forget this moment of respect and compassion."
Manchester United went on to lose the match 4-0, with Mohamed Salah scoring a brace and Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane scoring a goal each.
