Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes once claimed Goncalo Ramos has all the qualities to feature in the highly energetic Premier League. This follows recent rumors that Ramos has been offered to the Red Devils by intermediaries.

In 2023, while Fernandes and Ramos were on international duty for Portugal, the Manchester United star said (via Metro):

"I think he has all the qualities to play in the Premier League, and when I say Premier League I also mean Manchester United, I think he could become a great reference in the coming years, but it’s still not in my hands to be sports director. Gonçalo has all the conditions to play in the Premier League, he is very intense, presses very well and is very good inside the area."

He added:

"He surprised me in the national team, not only me but the rest of my teammates. He’s physically strong, he’s still young and he’s going to get better. If he continues to work as he has been doing, I think he has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the world, but he needs to go to a more competitive league to prove it."

Amid the search for a competitive No. 9, given the demands at Old Trafford, Ramos has emerged as a possibility. Ramos registered 18 goals and six assists in 41 outings for Paris Saint-Germain last term. He remains contracted at PSG till June 2028.

Former Red Devils goalkeeper Ben Foster has advised United to sign Emiliano Martínez in the ongoing window. He also claimed that the Argentine remains one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

In a discussion with talkSPORT, Foster said (via United In Focus):

“If the opportunity does come to sign somebody like an Emi Martinez, they’ve got to go for it. He’s still one of the best goalkeepers in the world. A lot of people said this season, probably not up to the standard of the previous two years, but still one of the best goalkeepers in the world."

While Andre Onana was a subject of criticism and concern for United fans, Martinez could be an option to consider. In 53 appearances last term, he kept 16 clean sheets for Aston Villa.
