Former Liverpool defender Danny Murphy has suggested that the Reds should sign Crystal Palace duo Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze should Mohamed Salah leave the club. Murphy has urged the Reds to keep hold of Salah as the Merseysiders replace Jurgen Klopp with Arne Slot at the helm of the club.

However, if Salah, who has attracted interest from teams in the Saudi Pro League, leaves, then Murphy has a solution in mind. Speaking about whether Slot can get the best out of the underfiring Darwin Nunez, Murphy told talkSPORT (via Metro):

"It depends on if Salah stays or goes as well. If Salah goes, they'll bring another person in, someone's going to have to step up and get 25 goals. I wouldn't sell Salah unless he's saying, "I want to go.'"

Murphy feels that if a £100 million bid comes in for the 31-year-old, the club could let him go and suggested using that money to make a double swoop from Crystal Palace. He said:

"If I got £100 million for Salah, I'd give £100 million to Palace and take Olise and Eze, I'd get two for the price of one."

Olise and Eze have been in red-hot form for Crystal Palace this season. This season, 22-year-old Olise scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 19 Premier League appearances. Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Eze scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 31 appearances across competitions.

If Salah decides to leave Liverpool, Olise and Eze could be valuable additions to Arne Slot's team.

Mohamed Salah's 2023-24 season with Liverpool

Mohamed Salah ended the 2023-24 season with 25 goals and 14 assists from 44 appearances across competitions. The Egyptian scored 18 goals and provided 10 assists in 32 Premier League appearances.

Salah, however, suffered a hamstring injury that sidelined him for a significant period. Despite starting the season in great form, Salah waned as the season progressed.

The Reds, meanwhile, finished the season with the Carabao Cup. They came in third, behind Manchester City and Arsenal, in the Premier League.
