Owen Hargreaves slams Casemiro for his role in Burnley equaliser.

Former Manchester United player Owen Hargreaves has slammed Casemiro for his error that led to Burnley's equaliser in the 1-1 Premier League draw on Saturday (April 27).

The game saw chances at both ends. The first half came and went without any goals, and it seemed as though the second half would be similar before Antony took advantage of a poor pass in midfield.

The winger ran onto the loose ball, driving in front of the goalkeeper before slotting it beyond him. It seemed like all three points would go to United, but a mistake from Casemiro let the visitors back into the game right at the end.

The Brazil international was manning a busy box as centre-back when a loose ball came to him. Instead of clearing it or pass it back to goalkeeper Andre Onana, he did neither. His looping header forced Onana to come out to claim the ball, but the goalkeeper only ended up hitting Zeki Amdouni in the face.

A penalty was given to Burnley, and Amdouni found the back of the net. The mistake from Casemiro, which led to the goal, displeased Hargreaves, who told Premier League Productions (via Metro):

"That header from Casemiro is unbelievable, I don’t know what he is thinking. Onana comes out and yes, he clatters into Amdouni but the header from Casemiro, it is just not on.
"At that stage of the game. Onana is going to get criticised but he kept them in the game, He made some big saves today."

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag speaks after Red Devils drop points to Burnley

The Red Devils went ahead against relegation-threatened Burnley, who they were widely expected to beat with ease. However, they could not keep a clean sheet and see the game through, letting the Clarets equalise through a penalty.

Manager Erik ten Hag was pleased about how Manchester United fought in the game but was not happy about conceding (via Eurosport):

"Strong start to the game. Loads of chances then we lost in control in second part of first half. Burnley came back in the game and had some chances. Second half was all ours and we are in a winning position and we give the game away at the end."

Manchester United remain sixth, still in search of European football for next season. However, overtaking Tottenham Hotspur - six points ahead - who sit in fifth with two games in hand, looks unlikely.
