Arsenal legend Ian Wright has claimed he would love to see Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes play for the Gunners in the future.
Fernandes, 30, is deemed as one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League. Despite the Red Devils' sub-par campaign, he has often made the headlines due to his excellent performances. He has netted 19 goals and laid out as many assists in 55 total club games this season.
During an interaction on The Overlap, Wright revealed his admiration for Fernandes and asserted that the Portuguese would be a great addition for Arsenal. He said (h/t Metro):
"I wish we had Bruno Fernandes. I wish we had Bruno. I would love to have him at Arsenal."
Since departing Sporting CP in a potential £68 million move in the winter of 2020, Fernandes has made 288 appearances across competitions for Manchester United. He has recorded 98 goals and 86 assists for his club so far.
Manchester United told to avoid signing Arsenal target
Speaking on talkSPORT, ex-Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent stated Manchester United should not launch a move for Ipswich Town ace Liam Delap this summer. He said (h/t Metro):
"This is his first full season in the Premier League. To go from Ipswich, who were in the Championship last season, to Manchester United and be expected to lead the line and score goals... It might work. I think he's got the confidence within himself to do it but there's going to be dips in his form, goal droughts, and that's where you need maybe that older statesman to learn from."
Revealing why the Red Devils should avoid signing Delap, Bent added:
"To have two [young strikers], that would be a little bit of a concern for me because we've seen Rasmus [Hojlund] really struggle in the Premier League this season and have no one to lean on for that bit of advice or confidence. Then, if you add Liam Delap as well, you're almost making the same mistake again, even though it's not a mistake as they're both good players."
Delap, who has also reportedly been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, is a Manchester City academy product. He has recorded 12 goals and two assists in 35 league games for Ipswich this season.
On the other hand, Rasmus Hojlund has contributed just four goals in 31 league matches for the Red Devils. He has bagged 10 goals in 50 overall appearances for his club this campaign.
