Jamie Carragher gives his take on verbal altercation between Jurgen Klopp and Mo Salah in Liverpool's 2-2 draw against West Ham

Pundit Jamie Carragher provided his opinion on the apparent argument between Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp. The pair seemed to have a disagreement as the Reds were held to a 2-2 draw by West Ham United.

Salah was named on the bench for the clash but was to be brought on around the 80-minute mark. Waiting for the substitution, he seemed to exchange words with the German before teammates Joe Gomez and Darwin Nunez pushed him away.

Carragher took to Twitter, saying:

"The only reason a manager would be unhappy in this situation, is the player took too long to be ready to come on."

The result marked yet another addition in a slew of disappointing results for Liverpool that have seen them effectively drop out of the Premier League title race. With just one win in their last five games, the Reds now face an uphill battle to lift the trophy at the end of the season.

Currently, the Reds are a point behind Manchester City who have two games in hand and two behind Arsenal who have one game in hand. With just five and four games to go for them respectively, it seems highly unlikely they will drop enough points to bring Klopp's men back into the picture.

They also suffered a disappointing exit at the hands of Serie A side Atalanta in the quarter-finals including a 0-3 loss at home in the first leg. In what is going to be Klopp's last season at Anfield, Liverpool have blown their chance to send the German off with multiple titles, with only a Carabao Cup triumph to their name this season.

Liverpool agree deal to sign Jurgen Klopp replacement

Liverpool are nearing an agreement to bring in Feyenoord manager Arne Slot to the club for next season. According to the BBC, the Reds will pay an amount of £9.4 million as compensation to the Eredivisie side to bring the Dutchman to Anfield.

This comes after Jurgen Klopp announced back in January that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season. The Reds considered many options including Xabi Alonso, Ruben Amorim and Roberto de Zerbi but eventually settled on Slot.

Slot led Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title last season and won the Dutch Cup this season. His aggressive and attacking brand of play were believed to be factors in Liverpool deciding to sign him, according to the report.
