Former English midfielder Paul Scholes has urged Manchester United to sign Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze, as talks with Bryan Mbeumo have stalled. Scholes appealed to the Red Devils during England's 3-1 defeat to Senegal in a friendly at the City Ground on Tuesday (June 10).
Harry Kane gave the Three Lions an early lead by scoring in the seventh minute. Ismaila Sarr scored the equaliser in the first half (40'), and Senegal took the lead with Habib Diarra's goal in the 62nd minute. Jude Bellingham scored for Thomas Tuchel's side in the 84th minute, only for VAR to overturn it.
Cheikh Sabaly's strike in stoppage time (90+3') secured a 3-1 victory for the Teranga Lions. While the entire English side looked rusty, Eberechi Eze was the only bright spot. The 26-year-old created two chances, maintained a passing accuracy of 89 percent (33/37), and won six out of six ground duels.
During the game, the Manchester United legend uploaded Eberechi Eze's picture on his Instagram story and wrote:
"Just buy him."

The 26-year-old, who joined Crystal Palace from Queens Park Rangers in August 2020, reportedly has a release clause of £68 million. Manchester United have shown interest in signing Eze, while Tottenham Hotspur have also been looking forward to making a bid for the Englishman.
Playing 167 games for the Eagles, Eze has scored 40 goals and has provided 28 assists. He won his first trophy with the club last season, as Crystal Palace beat Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final.
Manchester United to continue prioritizing Bryan Mbeumo after transfer window reopens: Reports

According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are expected to see Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo as a priority when the transfer window reopens next week. The transfer window closed at 7 pm on Tuesday due to the FIFA Club World Cup.
Nevertheless, the window will reopen on Monday (June 16) and the clubs will be allowed to make transfer offers and proceed with their recruitment plans. The transfer window will remain open until September 1.
The Red Devils made an opening offer of £55 million (£45 million + £10 million in add-ons) last week for the Cameroonian attacker. However, Brentford declined as they value the attacker more.
Last season, Mbeumo scored 20 goals and provided eight assists for the Bees in 38 Premier League games. He started all 38 matches for Brentford in the English top-tier football.
