Manchester United are keen on signing former targets Jarrad Branthwaite and Milos Kerkez in the 2025 summer transfer window, as per Football Transfers. The Red Devils have been longstanding admirers of Branthwaite, and wish to bring him to Old Trafford as soon as possible.
United are also reportedly interested in Bournemouth's Kerkez, who has already paid 11 league games this season. The left-back has drawn interest from several clubs in the Premier League, but United have shown that their interest is not temporary. Although Luke Shaw and Tyler Malacia are both back in action, there are some concerns about both their futures at the club.
Branthwaite, who plays of Everton, is one of the most talented young central defenders in the EPL at the moment. Manchester United believe that he can play a crucial role for them next season since he is a left-footed centre-back. The 22-year-old has played four matches for the Toffees in the league this season.
Everton believe Branthwaite to be their most valuable player, and have reportedly put a €70m price tag on him. United will have to pay a premium to purchase the English defender, but given that they already have Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez among others in the centre-half department, it might be a challenging task.
Manchester United will be back in EPL action against Ipswich Town
Manchester United headed into the November international break with a splendid 3-0 win over Leicester City at home on Sunday, November 10. That game was also the last that their interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy was in charge of, as the club announced his departure soon afterwards.
The Red Devils are ranked 13th in the league table at the moment with just 15 points inside their bag. They have won four out of 11 matches they have played this season.
New head coach Ruben Amorim has arrived at the club, and will take charge of his first game against Ipswich Town on November 24.
