Manchester United player Mason Mount has applauded his teammate Noussair Mazraoui on social media after the latter's stellar showing in their UEFA Europa League against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday, November 28. The latter put in an impressive performance at right centre-back in Ruben Amorim's first game at home.
Mazraoui, along with helping United do well defensively in this game, also provided the assist to Rasmus Hojlund's first goal in the 45th minute. United eventually won the game 3-2, and the Moroccan defender's role was applauded by the over 72,000 people who turned up at Old Trafford.
Mount, who played at right wing in this game, was hooked off by new head coach Amorim in the 59th minute. He took to Instagram to applaud Nazraoui. The two players interlinked with each other in this game given that they played on the same wing and even interchanged a few passes and crosses.
"What a player," wrote Mount on Instagram, in reply to Mazroui's post after the match.
Noussair Mazraoui arrived at Manchester United earlier this summer
Mazraoui was one of the biggest signings made by Manchester United earlier this year in the summer transfer window. Former manager Erik Ten Hag thought very highly about the Moroccan's prowess, and was responsible for bringing him to the club from Bayern Munich, where he played 55 matches across all competitions.
The 27-year-old has started in 11 matches for United this season and has done fairly well at right-back. Under Ten Hag, he was a regular fixture at that position while he has been moved to the right central defender's position under Amorim, who likes to play with a three-man backline.
Manchester United are ranked in the 12th position of the EPL table at the moment with 16 points, and are going through quite a challenging time of late. They take on Everton at home on Sunday, December 1 and will be keen on picking up all three points. This will also be Amorim's first EPL game at home.
