Real Madrid winger Rodrygo has taken to social media as he closes in on a return after recovering from injury. He has been on the sidelines after their 4-0 LaLiga win over Osasuna on November 9 at the Santiago Bernabeu. With just 20 minutes left on the clock, Rodrygo had to be substituted for Brahim Diaz due to discomfort in his left thigh.
After the match, Real Madrid announced that Rodrygo was diagnosed with "an injury to the rectus femoris muscle in his left leg" (via AS). The thigh injury was expected to keep him out for about a month.
The 23-year-old took to his account on X to post a message as he nears return from injury:
"Here we go... [hourglass emoji]."
Rodrygo missed only two games for Los Blancos, including their 2-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield on November 27. The UEFA Champions League defeat has left the Spanish giants close to a potential elimination.
It is still uncertain if he will be available for their upcoming LaLiga game against Getafe on Sunday, December 1, at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Carlo Ancelotti speaks about Real Madrid's loss to Liverpool
Carlo Ancelotti conceded that his side didn't deserve to win as Real Madrid's Champions League hopes were dealt a blow by Liverpool at Anfield. Goals from Alexis Mac Allister (52') and Cody Gakpo (76') were enough to seal the deal for the English giants, as Los Blancos were left to question what went wrong.
After the game, in his press conference, Ancelotti admitted that Liverpool had been the better side. He said (via Sports Illustrated):
"The result was the right one. Liverpool deserved to win because they have good momentum; they are in form, and they are playing with intensity. We held our own in the first half, but we made some poor decisions with our final pass. We competed and fought until the penalty. I'm satisfied that the team competed well."
He further added:
"We have to continue like this, and this is the way forward. We've become competitive again, and we've made sacrifices. There are things to improve, but we're going to improve, and that's it."
