Former Watford striker Troy Deeney believes new Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is fed up with Marcus Rashford following his recent performances. The 27-year-old scored the Red Devils' first goal under Ruben Amorim, in the 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town last month.
While he also registered a brace against Everton earlier this month, the Englishman has blown hot and cold this season. He was poor against Viktoria Plzen in midweek in the UEFA Europa League, where Manchester United had to rely on Rasmus Hojlund for three points.
In his column for The Sun, Deeney also labeled Rashford a disgrace for his performance against Arsenal last week.
"A new manager comes in and for three of four games you see a 'new Rashford' and then he slips back into his old ways and old form. He then begins to get dropped. We saw it on Thursday night, subbed off against Viktoria Plzen and already United boss Ruben Amorim looks fed up with him," wrote Deeney.
He continued:
"As a striker you want to be left on to build some momentum, but I was at the Emirates when he came on against Arsenal last week. He was a disgrace."
He concluded:
"Amorim summed it up best when he joined, telling Rashford he will get full support but it is up to him as a player, a person. That’s where the problem lies. Nobody wants Rashford to fail, but if he keeps delivering these substandard performances then we will all keep on saying the same things."
Rashford has registered seven goals and three assists from 24 games across competitions for Manchester United this season.
How many goals has Marcus Rashford scored for Manchester United in his career?

Marcus Rashford has registered 138 goals and 68 assists from 426 games for Manchester United. He is 12th on the list of the club's all-time goalscorers and needs seven more goals to match Cristiano Ronaldo in 11th.
The Englishman registered 30 goals and 10 assists from 56 games across competitions under Erik ten Hag in the 2022-23 campaign. The Red Devils subsequently rewarded him with a blockbuster new contract that runs until 2028.
However, the 27-year-old is yet to repay that faith and has been on a downward slide ever since. Recent reports have suggested that Manchester United have lost patience with Rashford and are ready to offload him in 2025. Barcelona and Bayern Munich have been named as possible destinations for the Englishman.
