Fans left furious as Manchester United coach comments on Jadon Sancho's post following BVB loan move

Manchester United's first-team coach Benni McCarthy has reacted to Jadon Sancho's Instagram post, in which he announced his loan move to Borussia Dortmund. McCarthy's comment has riled up many fans online, and they have taken to social media to question the coach's action.

Sancho's departure from Old Trafford is already a heated topic, as the winger had been excluded from the Red Devils' first team for months. He notably lashed out at manager Erik ten Hag on social media, after the Dutchman revealed he had not trained well back in September 2023.

Sancho hasn't played any football ever since his exclusion, and this has now led to a temporary switch to Borussia Dortmund. The German side have reportedly agreed to a £3.4 million loan fee (via The Guardian), and will also bear most of Sancho's wages during this period.

McCarthy's reaction to Jadon Sancho's post has not sat well with fans, who are not pleased with the player's refusal to apologize to Erik ten Hag and rejoin the first team. The first team coach responded with emojis to the post, as can be seen below:

Manchester United supporters seem to perceive McCarthy's emojis as inappropriate, or an insensitive endorsement of Sancho's departure and the events that led to it. They took to the social media platform X to react, with one fan writing:

"Sack him now."

Another fan warned:

"Too many snakes in the yard."

Ralf Rangnick has defended Jadon Sancho's discipline at Manchester United

Former Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick recently defended Jadon Sancho's professionalism.

In a statement to Sky Germany, Rangnick said that the 23-year-old winger did not have any such issues during his tenure at the club (via Daily Mail):

"He now has to get back into a rhythm and really into shape in Dortmund. From his point of view, the change makes perfect sense. In the six months I had him, there wasn't a single discipline problem. On the contrary. He is a calm and pleasant guy."

Rangnick managed Manchester United from November 2021, after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking following a poor run of form. However, the German's tenure was brief, as he gave way to Erik ten Hag, who has been at the managerial seat since the summer of 2022.
