Liverpool fans were left enraged after the club announced that American pop artist Lana Del Rey will be performing at Anfield next year. The 39-year-old is scheduled to have a concert in Merseyside as part of her UK & Ireland tour in the summer of 2025.
The announcement was made on November 25, amid the uncertainty surrounding Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah's contract at the club. The 32-year-old, who is widely considered to be among the best players in Reds' history, is being rumored with a move away from Anfield in the summer.
The talismanic winger has racked up 223 goals and 99 assists in 367 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool. Despite his incredible numbers and his indelible legacy, he is yet to be offered a contract extension beyond its current expiry in the summer of 2025.
Fans were livid on social media after the announcement of the concert. Some made sarcastic comments asking the Reds to play her on the flank, while others frankly stated that they should focus on Salah's contract instead.

"That's where the Salah money has gone then."
Here is a selection of fan reactions (via X):
@stevenKloppLFC2 wrote, "Can she play on the wing? only joking, hopefully she can play on the wing... might need her to do a job on the wing instead of singing... HEY LANA DO A JOB ON THE WING!"
"Use the money to renew Salahs contract," @_gsishere suggested.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk's contracts also set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 campaign, @Sarrvish lambasted the Reds' administration, writing, "Our 3 best players can start talking to clubs 1 month from now you absolute d**kheads."
"We've announced more concerts than contracts," @josephlynch95 hilariously remarked.
"They could not have chosen a worse day to announce this," @JamieGriff97 wrote.
Referencing Lana del Rey's song 'Summertime Sadness', @FootyTone wrote, "It will be a summertime of sadness if yous don’t get Salah, Trent and Virgil to sign new contracts…"
"How about you give Mo Salah a contract so he can perform next year and the year after at Anfield ffs," @ArneSlotBall wrote.
"Don’t care, how about give Mo Salah what he wants," @SamueILFC sharply retorted.
Salah has been one of the best forwards in world football in the 2024-25 season with 12 goals and 10 assists in 18 games for Liverpool across all competitions.
"It even brings the best out of him" - Liverpool manager Arne Slot claims Mohamed Salah amid uncertain contract situation
Liverpool manager Arne Slot claimed that the ongoing situation surrounding superstar forward Mohamed Salah's contract situation hasn't distracted him at all. Contradictory to popular belief, the Dutchman claimed that the uncertainty has been bringing 'the best out of him' thus far this season.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Reds' UEFA Champions League clash against Real Madrid, Slot said (via teamTALK):
"I don't think it distracts Mo at all, maybe it even brings the best out of him if you look at his performances until now... I talk to Mo about what I expect from him, like I do with all the other players, and he is in a good place at the moment. I'm not distracted by his comments and I don't feel his teammates are. It's nice we have a story in the media, you guys have some work now as well."
Slot's Liverpool will take on Carlo Ancelotti's Los Blancos at Anfield on November 27.
