Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes claimed that Alejandro Garnacho is yet to reach superstar status like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Garnacho has enjoyed a breakout campaign at Old Trafford this season. The Spanish-born Argentine youngster has scored six goals and has provided six assists in 33 games across competitions. He scored a spectacular goal as the Red Devils defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 in their latest Premier League home clash.

While Fernandes acknowledged that Garnacho is a special talent, the Portuguese reminded that he has a long way to go before reaching superstardom. He said:

"He's not yet a superstar. In Argentina and Portugal, the superstars are Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, so he still has a lot of work to do, but he has something special, that's certain."

Manager Erik ten Hag has given Garnacho the chance to flourish this season. The winger has done well when called upon as well.

Garnacho recently spent a period on the sidelines after suffering an injury against Southampton in March. However, he is back in action as Manchester United are vying for a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag spoke about Bournemouth

Manchester United are set to take on Bournemouth in a Premier League away clash on May 20. The Red Devils are vying for a top-four finish and must avoid any slip up with Liverpool right on their tails.

Manchester United are currently fourth, one point above the Reds with a game in hand. Bournemouth, meanwhile, are currently 14th with 39 points from 36 games.

Erik ten Hag was asked about the Cherries ahead of the clash. The Dutch manager gave his assessment, telling the media (via United's website):

"I think, as far as I can see, it's really brilliant that a club like Bournemouth [have been] that long in the Premier League [over the years] and now already, before the end of the season, they are definitely safe for next season in the Premier League as well. So, I think it's a massive performance from them, it's a good team, it's a really good structure in that team, you can see clear patterns. So, well done."

United have three games remaining in their Premier League campaign and can secure a top-four finish by winning even just two of them. After Bournemouth, they will host Chelsea and Fulham.
