Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has asserted that Liverpool could launch a move to sign Southampton star Tyler Dibling in the future.

Dibling, 18, has emerged as one of the most exciting wingers in the Premier League since the start of the ongoing 2024-25 season. He has registered one goal and two assists in 14 overall matches, including eight starts, for his club this term.

Earlier on Sunday (November 24), Dibling turned a lot of heads with his great display in a 3-2 league loss against the Anfield outfit. The left-footed star completed 15 of his 17 passes, won a penalty, and created a chance at St. Mary's Stadium.

Speaking on The Weekend Wrap, Sherwood hailed Dibling and shared his honest thoughts on the youngster's future. He said (h/t TBR):

"Dibling is the man. This boy, he's playing against... they're usually their feeder club, aren't they Southampton for Liverpool? He will probably be their next signing. I don't know when that will be, he's only 18 years of age, but he's ready to step up. Already you know there is a superstar in the making there."

Dibling, who is a former Chelsea youth player, registered 11 goals and five assists in 42 games for Southampton's U18 side. He contributed eight goals and six assists in 27 outings across all competitions for the Saints' U21 team.

Liverpool star offers worrying contract update

After the end of Liverpool's recent win at Southampton, Mohamed Salah claimed that he has yet to receive a new contract offer from his club. He said (h/t The Athletic):

"We are almost in December and I haven't received any offers yet to stay at the club. I'm probably more out than in [next summer]. You know I have been at the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end, it is not in my hands."

Salah, whose current contract will run out next June, continued:

"As I said before, it is December and I haven't received anything yet about my future. I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end, it is not in my hands or the fans' hands. Let's wait and see."

So far this season, the 32-year-old Egyptian has bagged 12 goals and provided 10 assists in 18 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool.

Salah is next set to be in action for Liverpool in their UEFA Champions League match against La Liga champions Real Madrid at Anfield on Wednesday.
