"We won our last two away games, can I ask for more?" - Jurgen Klopp praises Liverpool players after 3-1 Fulham win

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp heaped praise on his players after their 3-1 Premier League away win against Fulham on Sunday, April 21. With the win, the Reds climbed to second place in the league, behind Arsenal on goal difference, as they look to dethrone Manchester City as champions.

After their elimination from the FA Cup and the Europa League, Liverpool have only the league to compete for this season (they have already bagged the League Cup).

After the win at Craven Cottage, Klopp said (via Liverpool.com):

"We won our last two away games, can I ask for more? Besides the last 10 minutes in the first half, we did extremely well. The boys played a really good football game. Historically, we've struggled here much more. Today, we did much better. Scoring goals is the most important [thing], having chances — we really liked the game."

Klopp was, however, skeptical of his side's win putting any pressure on reigning Premier League champions Manchester City, musing:

"I get 'scoreboard pressure' but do you think Man City care? I don't care. We focus on ourselves. I say everything I think will help, I'm not sure this will help. It's a really tough game. We face Everton, which is not a normal game. It will be tricky but we will give it a go."

City are placed third in the table with 73 points but have a game in hand over title rivals Arsenal and Liverpool.

Fulham boss Marco Silva marvels at Trent Alexander-Arnold's free-kick for Liverpool in Premier League loss

Fulham manager Marco Silva admitted that Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold's free-kick against his side in their Premier League loss to the Reds was a moment of pure quality.

Liverpool opened the scoring in the 32nd minute through the defender's sumptuous set-piece. While Fulham equalized before the break through Timothy Castagne, the Reds scored a couple of goals in the second half via Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota.

Silva said after the match (via TBR Football):

“Good first half, second half not at the best level. Balanced first half, Liverpool scored an excellent free-kick but our reaction was good and it would not have been fair to get to half-time losing the game because we had some very good moments. After the second goal, we were not able to create so many and the second half was not good.”

The west London side have already secured survival ahead of next season and seated in 12th place, have nothing to fight for this campaign. Fulham next face London rivals Crystal Palace in the Premier League, while Liverpool will face crosstown rivals Everton.
