Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo is set to report back to the club's training in Marbella, Spain, on Saturday (August 3). The 39-year-old enjoyed some time off with his family after his involvement at Euro 2024 with Portugal.

Ronaldo drew a rare blank across five games - a first in 11 major-tournament appearances - as A Selecao crashed out to France in the quarter-final on penalties (5-3) after a goalless 120 minutes.

Earlier, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner missed an extra-time penalty in the shootout win (3-0) win over Slovenia in the previous round. That would have made him the first player to score in six Euros and the oldest scorer in competition history.

Since then, the Portugal captain has been on holiday with his familly, but as per Arriyadiyah, he along with defender Aymeric Laporte are set to report to Al-Nassr training on Saturday.

The 2023-24 Saudi Pro League runners-up are slated to play Granada a day later in their opening pre-season game before taking on Almeria on August 8. Ronaldo's availability for either game is not known at the moment, but he's expected to play some part.

The Knights of Najd open their new campaign in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final against Al-Taawoun on August 14.

Cristiano Ronaldo produced a spectacular first full season in Saudi Arabian football with Al-Nassr, having joined them on a free transfer in December 2022 after two decades in European football.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner registered an impressive 44 goals and 13 assists in 45 games across competitions but endured a second straight trophyless campaign.

His tally included a record 35 strikes in 31 games - to go with 11 assists - in the Saudi Pro League, where Luis Castro's side finished runners-up for the second straight season.

Ronaldo also struck six times and provided an assist in seven games in his maiden AFC Champions League campaign, where his side crashed out on penalties to Al-Ain in the quarter-finals.

His three other goals during the season came in the King's Cup, where Castro's side lost to Al-Hilal on penalties (5-4) in the final after a 1-1 draw.
