On the back of beating Scotland 2-0 in midweek, Spain will travel to take on Norway in Group A of the 2024 Euro qualifiers on Sunday.

Thanks to a brace from Erling Haaland and goals from Alexander Sorloth and Fredrik Aursnes, Norway thrashed Cyprus 4-0 in a Euro qualifier on Thursday. It marked Norway's third win on the trot in the qualifiers. It's been a welcome return to form for the Norwegians who failed to win any of their opening three qualifiers.

They currently sit third in Group A with 10 points from six matches, just two points behind their Sunday's opponents Spain albeit La Roja have a game in hand over them. Norway fell to a 3-0 loss in the reverse fixture which took place nearly seven months ago on March 26, 2023.

Meanwhile, Spain avenged their 2-0 loss to Scotland seven months earlier by beating the Tartan Army by the same scoreline on Thursday. Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay's thunderous free-kick seemed to have given the Scots the lead only for it to be chalked off for offside in controversial fashion.

Alvaro Morata fired Spain into the lead in the 73rd minute before Oihan Sancet came on as a substitute and scored on his debut in the dying embers of the game to put the game to bed.

Spain need a win on Sunday against Norway to remain in contention for a top-two finish in Group A as well. With the stakes so high, we expect nothing short of a cracking encounter.
