Norwich City set to sign PSV striker Ola Toivonen

Toivonen to join Premier League side Norwich City

Norwich City have agreed a deal to sign PSV striker Ola Toivonen for a reported a £4.7million. The Swedish player decided not to extend his contract at PSV. Premier league clubs Fulham and West Bromich Albion were also interested in the player.

Norwich finished 11th in the league last season.

“There is real interest, and also from a number of clubs,” said PSV Eindhoven technical director Marcel Brands.

Last week in an interview, Toivonen said:”‘It is always interesting. I don’t know, hard to say (what league would suit him). It depends on which team you come to.

“There are teams who like to play long balls and those who like to play by the ground. I prefer the latter.”

He added: “The policy of PSV has changed and that’s bad for me. I didn’t start all this. But the asking price is too high. I’ve said it before and I continue to say it.”
