Arsenal's Patrick Vieira

One of the hardest football players ever to play the game, Patrick Vieira was the personification of the hunger and desire that was brought to the North London side upon the arrival of the legendary manager Arsene Wenger.

The midfielder was a key member of three Premier League titles that Arsene Wenger won and still is one of the players that Arsene and Arsenal have failed to replace in their team.

Patrick Vieira joined Arsenal in 1996 after failing to break into a star-studded AC Milan in his sole season with the Rossoneri. The French international made his debut in 1996 and immediately eased into the first team. Still far from the league title, it was the arrival of Emmanuel Petit that helped Patrick Vieira fully express himself.

The French duo made a telling contribution as Arsenal won their first Premier League title under Wenger. The following season saw Patrick Vieira enter his first PFA Team of the Year.

The six seasons that followed saw the Frenchman being an indisposable part of the PFA Team of the Year as the midfielder entering the team each year till 2004.

Patrick Vieira, after 9 seasons with Arsenal, moved to Turin giants Juventus after Arsenal agreed to sell their star midfielder. The Frenchman made a combined total of 307 appearances in the Premier League for both Arsenal and Manchester City winning 3 Premier League titles.

One of the best strikers of all-time, Thierry Henry joined Arsenal in 1999 after a very poor season at Turin with Juventus. It was at Highbury that Thierry Henry transformed from a winger to a striker. The change in position proved to be one of the best decisions made by Arsene Wenger as Thierry Henry and Arsenal terrorised the Premier League teams for the next couple of seasons.

Thierry Henry made his Premier League debut in 1999 and quickly established himself as a first team regular, scoring 17 goals in his debut season. The Frenchman though was not to be denied the second season as Theirry Henry made his first PFA Team of the Year appearance the next season after once again scoring 17 goals, finishing third on the list.

The next 5 seasons saw Premier League witness something magical as Thierry Henry made fun of the Premier League teams scoring a mammoth 158 goals in around 200 league appearances, twice winning the PFA Player of the Year award as well as being named in the PFA Team of the Year in these 5 seasons.

Thierry Henry enjoyed 8 seasons in London before being allowed to move to Barcelona in 2007. The Frenchman made 258 appearances in the league and scored 175 goals for the Gunners. He won 2 Premier League titles with Arsenal. That apart, he was awarded the PFA Player of the Year twice and finished on top of the golden boot race 4 times.
