Pique and Messi have won a lot of titles together for Barcelona

Gerard Pique has played with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and the Spanish defender thinks that the Argentine is slightly better than the Real Madrid star. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winner in the Clasico after Karim Benzema had cancelled out Pique’s opener.

Pique who won a Premier League and Champions League double with Ronaldo in Manchester United (2007/08) in an interview with BT Sport said:

"I think that they are both amazing, we are talking about two of the best players, not just in the world but the history of this sport.

"I always said that Messi has some talent that no one has. I mean, he has the ball and his speed controlling the ball. The ball doesn't go two metres far from his foot, it's always there. It's impossible to catch him, this talent I didn't see from anyone

"Cristiano Ronaldo is such a different player, they are very different. He is tall, strong, he's really complete. He can do anything. He can do goals with the head, free-kicks, penalties, take one on one.

"But for me it's like Messi is not human but Cristiano is the best of the humans."

Pique claims Neymar and Ter Stegen will not leave Barcelona

Gerard Pique has hit out at rumours of Neymar moving away from Barcelona, with the Spanish centre-back stating with absolute certainty that the Brazilian striker will not seek a move away from Barcelona. In a similar vein, Pique also termed the idea of any Barcelona player wanting to leave ludicrous, observing that Ter Stegen would stay at the Catalan club.

Pique was addressing journalists ahead of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid, and was emphatic in his assertion that Neymar would stay, saying “Neymar will not move from Barcelona, I am convinced. I know him and I know he is not going to leave. Period.”

Pique’s comments came in response to a question from a journalist asking about fresh rumours about Neymar being tempted by a move to Paris St-Germain. The Ligue 1 champions are likely to be without strikers as both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani look set to leave the club after this season, which has left PSG willing to activate a staggering €193 million release clause in Neymar’s contract.

Pique also addressed reports that Marc-Andre Ter Stegen will leave, after the goalkeeper complained about a lack of playing time, saying “Ter Stegen won’t go, either. No-one wants to leave Barça. We are Barça and to be in this club is the most happiness a player can have.”

“This club, this city, these fans, everything that we have… What more can we want? I am convinced that everyone will stay.”
