Leicester City 2-0 Liverpool: Player Ratings

Jamie Vardy put in another Man of the Match performance.

Liverpool

Firmino played well but was hardly suppported by his teammates.

Simon Mignolet – 6/10

Mignolet made a couple of good saves, but once again looked nervous defending corners. Jamie Vardy did well to spot him off the line for his first goal, and his reading of the game makes you wonder if Klopp will get a new goalkeeper in the summer.

Nathaniel Clyne – 5/10

Clyne was decent at the back, but should be doing much better going forward. Probably needs a break from first team action, and Klopp should consider bringing Flanagan in his place.

Dejan Lovren – 5/10

Lorven was troubled by Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki, but was left even more disappointed with his partner in defense Mamadou Sakho

Mamadou Sakho – 3/10

Sakho keeps making poor individual errors. He doesn’t look too comfortable with the ball bouncing in front of him, and his reactions are slow too. Should be doing much much better.

Alberto Moreno – 4/10

Moreno gets forward, and gets into the right areas too, but his decision making is shambolic to say the least. Klopp might consider giving Brad Smith a chance in the future games.

Lucas Leiva – 4/10

DIfficult to see if Lucas is making any real contribution to the team. He is absolutely zero when it comes to creativity, and is nowhere near a top 4 quality midfielder.

Emre Can – 5/10

Emre Can has got the quality, but his decision making needs to be improved. His pairing in the midfield with Henderson looked impressive before Klopp decided to bring back Lucas back into the team. He should be doing much better in the midfield, and was poor last night.

Jordan Henderson – 5/10

Poor decision by Jurgen Klopp to play him on the right side, when his easily the best central midfield player in the Liverpool team. Henderson struggled to make an impact, and his passing was really poor.

Adam Lallana – 4/10

Just one goal so far in the season for Adam Lallana, and you’d start to think what’s his contribution in the team. It was a typical Lallana performance last night, and he looked clueless with the ball, and always opted for the easy crosses.

James Milner – 4/10

Another player Klopp might want to get rid of as soon as possible. Milner’s work rate was good last night, but unfortunately he was creative effort to create any real goal scoring chances for his team.

Roberto Firmino – 6/10

Firmino was probably Liverpool’s only decent player last night, as he was hardly suppported by his teammates. Firmino made some defensive contribution as well, but Klopp should get better players around him to see his real quality.

Substitutes:

Christian Benteke – 4/10

Benteke came on in the 65th minute, but struggled to get even one shot on target.

Joe Allen – 6/10

Joe Allen looked impressive in his short cameo, and should be starting more often.

Joao Carlos Teixeira – N/A
