Players Liverpool should sign this summer to mount a title challenge

RB Leipzig star man Werner has been a revelation in the Bundesliga over the last two seasons and will be leading the line for Germany at the World Cup this summer. The young German along with Naby Keita, who has already made the switch to Anfield inspired RB Leipzig to a second place finish in the 16/17 season, which was also their debut season in the Bundesliga.

The only top class striker at Liverpool is Brazilian Roberto Firmino and in case of injury to him Liverpool do not have a good back up striker. Youngster Dominic Solanke has struggled to adapt to life at Merseyside and injury prone Danny Ings definitely does not have the ability of a top class striker.

Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge have not proven their worth during their respective loan spells and should be sold this summer. Werner who is just 22 years old is definitely the kind of striker Liverpool should be targeting taking into account he suits Klopp’s high energy and pressing style of play.

Along with speed and dribbling skills, the young German is a serial goal scorer and netted 21 goals last season. His strike rate for Germany also is outstanding so far in his short international career. Getting the German to Anfield may prove to be a difficult task as he is a wanted man by many top clubs and Leipzig will definitely not let go of their star man easily and may put a hefty price tag on him.

If Liverpool, are looking to mount a serious title challenge next season they should definitely look to sign the young German.
