Lukas Podolski endeared himself to the Arsenal fans when he posted a tweet mocking Tottenham after they somehow contrived to finish below Arsenal. On the final Premier League matchday, Arsenal faced Aston Villa while Tottenham travelled to already relegated Newcastle United. Only a loss to Tottenham could have made them finish below Arsenal and Newcastle duly obliged the Arsenal fans by thrashing Tottenham 5-1.
Arsenal meanwhile cantered to a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa thanks to a hat-trick from Olivier Giroud. Former Arsenal players Lukas Podolski and Nicklas Bendtner wasted no time in trolling Tottenham on their Twitter accounts.
