Southampton secured a thumping win over Everton at home, thanks to two headers in the space of six second-half minutes from the Saints talisman Charlie Austin. The game was tied at 1-1 while the teams headed for the half-time break after goals from Dusan Tadic and Gylfi Sigurdsson for their respective teams.

But, the second half sprung into life when Austin put Southampton ahead in the 52nd minute with a header following a cross from Ryan Bertrand. The 28-year-old scored an identical goal six minutes later, this time from Tadic's ball.

The goal meant that Austin has had a hand in eight goals in his last 11 starts for the Saints in the league (7 goals, 1 assist) and he also became the first player since James Beattie in 2002 to score two headers in the same game for the club.
