Arsenal's third goal was important in the context of the game

Arsenal were 2-0 up after 45 minutes and, thus, in a comfortable position to clinch victory against the seventh-placed Burnley. However, Dyche's team started the second half in a positive manner and put the hosts' defence under severe pressure with their dangerous crosses.

It would have been a familiar story for Arsenal and Wenger had they conceded a goal then and put themselves under pressure for the rest of the match. However, they did not restrain their attacking efforts and instead, continued to threaten the Burnley defence.

Their persistence was rewarded with a third goal, as Sead Kolasinac scored with a thumping finish off an assist from Jack Wilshere in the 54th minute of the game. That was the goal that effectively killed Burnley's chances of securing a point (or three) from the encounter.
