Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has bought both Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof since he became the manager. The Red Devils have more options in the centre-back positions than any other club in the Premier League, but Jose Mourinho has still complained about the lack of quality in the defence.
The Portuguese wanted a centre-half in the transfer window, but his request was reportedly turned by the board citing reasons that the players bought have not done enough to improve the quality of the squad, and they are reluctant to spend further.
Last season, this same defence had the second best defensive record in the Premier League, but within a matter of few months, it had turned worse with the Red Devils conceding twice the number of goals they did at the same stage in the previous campaign. Jose Mourinho is unsure of his best centre-back pairing and tried and tested many combinations.
With Richarlison and Walcot in a sublime form, it would be a tough test for Jose Mourinho to stop them from scoring.
