To put simply, Liverpool players wanted to win it, and Manchester United players didn't. I know that is awfully harsh, but I'm only writing what I saw. United's players looked a yard off of their pace on another occasion this season, and Liverpool's players seemed to have that extra bit of juice in the tank, pushing them past a lackadaisical team who were never really in the game since the first whistle.

Andrew Robertson perfectly sums up Liverpool's desire to win, always harassing United players in possession, whilst looking to drive forward at every possible occasion. He recovered the ball 7 times for his team, and he was a constant outlet for his team down the entire left flank.

United's best attacking outlet was 33-year-old winger turned fullback Ashley Young, who looked to have been playing the second half with a knock. Young is a good player, but him being the best attacking threat for a club like Manchester United says everything you need to know about why Man United came away with nothing to show for other than a goal.
