Defence - Michel Vorm (GK), Ben Davies, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweirald, Trippier.

Midfield - Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele; Eriksen, Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura.

Attack - Harry Kane.

This is Pochettino's favourite formation which he has employed in most of his time with Spurs. Though the formation looks a bit defensive, the pragmatic approach is what one wants facing a free-flowing team like Liverpool. Ben Davies would be a better choice than Danny Rose in the back four with Davison Sanchez missing out.

Dier can do the dirty work in midfield with a more skilful partner in Dembele. This formation would also allow Pochettino to field both Moura and Son together which is what the Spurs fans want to see. Eriksen would take up the no.10 role with Harry Kane leading the line.

Erik Lamela could be a part of the 3 attacking positions either from the start or as an alternative. This formation looks the most likely as Pochettino would want to surprise Klopp again with his tactics like the way he did last season.
