Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has openly admitted that the Magpies need reinforcements in January. The former Chelsea manager believes that the left-back position needs more backup.

He also stated that current left-back Paul Dummett also wants more competition in his position while also adding that his team needs to strengthen in other areas.

He said: “Everyone can see we need another left-back because we only have one.

“Paul Dummett knows it too, and he is happy because he wants competition from an attacking player. We need a couple of other positions too, but we will see.”

Meanwhile, Standard report that FIFA could bring changes to the loan rules of Premier League clubs. The intention of the new rule will be to bring down the number of players a said club could send out on loan, which means Chelsea are in trouble because they have 39 players out on loan.
