Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso has revealed that he is very close to signing an extension with Chelsea in the next few days. The former Real Madrid defender joined Chelsea from Fiorentina in 2016 and has been a mainstay with the team ever since.
While Antonio Conte was the one who signed him, it seems as though he has won the trust of Maurizio Sarri. As a result, he has been offered a new contract by the club.
The Spaniard stated that he is happy with his life in London and will almost certainly sign the extension in a few days’ time.
“I am very calm and very happy at Chelsea, and the club must also be happy with me because, although I still have two years left on my contract, they have offered me an extension,” he was quoted as saying.
“We are talking about it and the talks to renew are already advanced. If everything goes well, I think I will renew before the end of the month – in the coming days.”
