Alderweireld wanted by Man United, Liverpool want Leicester star, and more: Premier League transfer news, 13th February 2018

Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United - Carabao Cup Fourth Round
Alderweireld is on the radar of top clubs

Hello and welcome to the transfer roundup for February 13, 2018. It is mostly the London clubs in the rumours today, with a touch of Manchester madness in the end.

So here are the Premier League rumours of the day...

#5 London

West Ham’s signings have not been all that great, which is perhaps why David Sullivan has asked David Moyes to not be so involved with the transfers. That is not the main focus of this report by football.london here—it is the name of Ryan Fredericks being linked with the Hammers as David Moyes is someone who is interested in him.

Meanwhile, Portuguese outlet Record state that Arsenal scouts have watched Andrija Zivkovic, with the club keen on signing him in the summer. The Serbian joined Benfica from Partizan Belgrade in the summer of 2016 and has been a revelation ever since.

#4 Pjanic snubbed Tottenham

Atalanta BC v Juventus - TIM Cup
Pjanic has been great for Juve

Miralem Pjanic is one of the best midfielders in the world. After making a name for himself in Lyon and Rome, he joined Juventus and further enhanced his reputation. He could, however, have joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 when the club sold Luka Modric to Real Madrid.

“There was the opportunity but at that moment I told them I was happy where I was and that’s why we didn’t sign the deal,” Pjanic told The Telegraph.

“But I made my choice using my head and if I made that choice not to go to an English team it was for good reasons.”

#3 Chelsea and Alcacer

Leganes v Real Madrid - Spanish Copa del Rey
A fine talent

In what seems like a broken record repeating itself, Don Balon have stated that Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio isn’t happy with the minutes that he has gotten this season thus far and might move to Chelsea in his quest to play more.

The Blues value him at €80 million, but Perez will not accept a penny less than €150 million, citing the similar amount of money that Barcelona paid for Ousmane Dembele as a validation for his demands.

Meanwhile, in another report, they claim that Paco Alcacer could be out of Barcelona, with Premier League being a likely destination.

#2 Liverpool and Alderweireld

Everton v Leicester City - Premier League
Ndidi has been sublime for Foxes

It is as clear as the water in river Nile that Liverpool a quality goalkeeper. Such is the emphasis on that position that another shortcoming is almost overlooked: the defensive midfield.

The lack of a proper defensive midfielder is perhaps hurting the Merseyside outfit and, according to The New Telegraph, Jurgen Klopp acknowledges the need for it and has, as a result, targeted Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi, who is valued at around £53 million.

Meanwhile, Don Balon state that Sergio Ramos is looking for a quality defensive partner and Florentino Perez, as a result, could sign Toby Alderweireld from Spurs. The Belgian apparently has a release clause of €30 million in the last 14 days of 2019 summer window.

#1 Manchester madness

Tottenham Hotspur v Real Madrid - UEFA Champions League
A wanted man

In the meantime, according to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are also looking at Toby Alderweireld as Jose Mourinho’s faith in Victor Lindelof seems to be shaking. Given that Lindelof cost United over £30 million, a £25 million release clause for one of the best defenders in the world doesn’t look like much.

Justin Kluivert, meanwhile, might be flirting with Manchester United here.

"If you get a nice offer, you never know," the 18-year-old told Helden, quoted by Goal. "England appeals to me: Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea or Manchester United are nice clubs where I can see myself playing in a few years."
