Premier League transfer news: Draxler to Arsenal, Dybala and Mbappe to United and more – 26th December 2017

Paris Saint-Germain v Celtic FC - UEFA Champions League
Draxler has been linked with Arsenal before too

For most football fans, Boxing Day holds more of a festive mood than Christmas itself. The amount of Premier League action that happens on the day is quite spectacular. While the teams shine on the pitch, there are transfer rumours that add more shine to the already glowing world.

And today has been no different either as some of the very best rumours regarding some important players and big teams are on the card with Manchester United—obviously—and Arsenal stealing the show.

However, there are other teams that add to the spice too and here are the best Premier League transfer rumours of the day.

#5 Big rumour numero uno

A festive day will start in a festive way and, as a result, the first transfer story will include two major footballing entities: Arsenal and Paris-Saint Germain and the player in question is Julian Draxler. With reports of Alexis Sanchez being allowed to leave for £30 million, Arsenal are looking at Julian Draxler as a replacement.

According to the Mirror, the North Londoners have been told to cough up £40 million if they are serious about the prospect of acquiring the German international. PSG have a plethora of great players in attack and see Draxler as someone they could afford to be without.

That’s not the case with Arsenal. According to Daily Star, they have entered the race with Liverpool to sign Hirving Lozano, who is valued at £42 million by his club, PSV Eindhoven.

#4 N’Zonzi to PL?

Sevilla v NK Maribor - UEFA Champions League
Back to the PL?

There was once a time when Sevilla were almost unimaginable without midfielder Steven N’Zonzi. The defensive midfielder stood in front of the defence like a rock and guarded the backline like a Titan while also helping out in attack.

However, it seems like he is an outcast right now and will be sold if the right offer comes. And, according to The Guardian, David Moyes wants to sign him.

“I think he’s [N’Zonzi] somebody who would be of interest to us if he came on the market,” said Moyes. “I wouldn’t say that about others, but he’s not playing for some reason at Sevilla – albeit the manager’s gone, so maybe that changes the situation there. Overall, it’s not something I can say I’ve done anything with.”

N’Zonzi is said to have a £35 million release clause and it should be triggered for any move to take place.

#3 Roy Hodgson is worried

Crystal Palace v FC Schalke 04 - Pre Season Friendly
Zaha could be on his way out

Of course, he is. When you are the manager of a relegation-battling club and have a potentially world class player in your ranks, you are supposed to be worried all the time. And it is no wonder that Roy Hodgson worried that his best player Wilfried Zaha could be taken off him.

‘If Wilf continues as he is doing, then the club will be faced with a situation where someone wants to put a lot of money on the table in order to prise him away,’ he said.

‘That will be a massive decision for the club because I know how much everyone at Crystal Palace appreciates him and he is the last person we want to lose.'

‘It is no good making bold statements that this and that won’t happen because things do happen and when they do, you deal with them.’

There are reports that Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in the youngster.

#2 North Londoners to go head to head

Everton v Watford - Premier League
Barkley could be let go now

Last summer, the tug-of-war between Tottenham and Chelsea for Ross Barkley ended nowhere as Barkley ended up staying at Everton. And now with just 6 months left to go in his contract, the London duo are back at it.

We had already reported of Spurs’ interest on the player. However now, according to The Daily Star, Chelsea have also joined the race.

With fears of losing him for free, Everton are now open to the idea of selling him in January instead. The England international has been injured for most of the season and will need to get back to his best if he wants to end up on a plane to Russia next summer.

And with Chelsea or Tottenham, he could have a chance to do just that.

#1 Big rumours number dos: more Manchester madness

France v England - International Friendly
Rashford and Mbappe in one team?

Where do I even begin? Every new day, the Red Devils are linked to a new player, not that it is bad for me, but it seems that there is no dearth of players in the radar of Manchester United according to reports.

Right now, Don Balon are reporting that the Old Trafford outfit are interested in two players that could cost them a combined £222 million. The players are none other than PSG’s Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane—which is a little too far-fetched, to be honest.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star claims that Manchester United are looking to add Paulo Dybala to their ranks. The Argentine is said to be valued at somewhere around £60 million, an amount which Juve deem as obligatory for a player of the Argentine’s talent.
