Premier League transfer news: Luis Suarez to Liverpool, David Luiz to Manchester United and more – 6th January 2018

Southampton v Chelsea - Premier League
Mourinho reunion on course?

So, let’s see. Nothing new has come out with outlets not being at their creative best and refurbishing some of the older rumours to make it seem like new.

However, thank God for Manchester United—they never disappoint. And the same applies to Don Balon. Anyways, without further ado and spoiling all the fun, here are the best Premier League rumours of the day…

#5 Benitez’s Hart set on Joe and more

Manchester City v Aston Villa - Premier League
Joe is in Benitez's Hart

Yup, I am just too good with these puns. It has been made as clear as the sky on a summer day that Benitez wants reinforcements. And now, according to the Daily Mail, the Spaniard has targeted Joe Hart to shield the sticks of the Magpies.

His wages of £120,000 a week, however, is a stumbling block and Manchester City, who still own his rights, will need to share it with the Toons.

I remember writing about Kenedy a long time ago and since then, his move to Newcastle seemed to have taken a cold trail… until now. The Telegraph claims that the left-sided player will complete his loan move to the Magpies next week.

#4 West Brom and Arsenal

Arsenal v West Ham United - Carabao Cup Quarter-Final
West Brom could save him now

West Brom have been one of the quietest clubs in this rumour mill, but they may spring to life now. Their defence needs refurbishing and they think that Mathieu Debuchy is the man to help them do it, claims L’Equipe.

Other than that, the Mirror believe that David Moyes is keen on Jonjo Shelvey and can cash in on him to solve his midfield problems.

The Arsenal right-back has found it difficult to get into the first team after Hector Bellerin made the place his own and is looking for a way out.

Speaking of Arsenal, the Gunners have been linked with a plethora of players and have a new one added to the list. According to the Independent, they are the favourites to sign Argentine talent Cristian Pavon from Boca Juniors, who is rated at £20 million by his club.

#3 Liverpool

Leicester City v Huddersfield Town - Premier League
Could Mahrez fill Coutinho's void?

One thing can be said with some sort of assurance is that Virgil Van Dijk isn’t going to be the last signing the Reds make in this winter window—at least that is what the rumours suggest as we have some rumours from the Daily Mail and, ahem, Don Balon.

Jurgen Klopp, reportedly, is preparing for life without Philippe Coutinho and has targeted Riyad Mahrez as result, says the Mail.

Meanwhile, Don Balon is at it again. They claim that Liverpool have asked about the availability of their former player, Luis Suarez, and are likely to use the funds from the seemingly-imminent transfer of Coutinho to get their ex-forward.

#2 Brighton and others

This photo is pretty cool

There was a report of an unnamed English club having their €14 million bid for Ligue 1 forward Karl Toko Ekambi rejected. And now, France Football reports that Brighton and Hove Albion were the ones behind it.

However, it is not expected of them to stop just there as they will continue their pursuit of the player.

Meanwhile, Diario Gol states that Barcelona’s Jose Arnaiz has threatened the club that he will leave for the Premier League should he not get more minutes in the first-team. As a result, Tottenham, Southampton and Arsenal are interested and are willing to pay his £20 million release clause.

#1 Manchester madness

Juventus FC v AC ChievoVerona - Serie A
Chelsea target to United?

Everything is good and right with the world when this column has this segment—and today is a good day. According to Daily Record, Manchester United are interested in securing the services of left-back Kieran Tierney as the Red Devils are seeking reinforcements in the area.

The same report also states that Juventus’ Alex Sandro is actually the first choice of the Special One.

Apart from that, CaughtOffside believes that Manchester United will raid Chelsea for David Luiz.

There's more news coming in from the red half of Manchester as Don Balon state that superagent Jorge Mendes is engineering a move for Goncalo Guedes to the Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, RMC Sport claim that Hakim Guenouche is player who is on City’s radar and the Etihad outfit have opened talks with the Franch U17 international, who plays predominantly at left-back.
