Premier League transfer news: Neymar to Premier League club, Modric to Tottenham, and more - February 17, 2018

FC Barcelona v Real Madrid CF - La Liga
Both of them could move to the Premier League next summer

Hello and welcome to Premier League transfer news for the day. As you may have guessed already, there are a lot of spicy rumours surrounding the Premiership, with some top players being touted to move to England.

So, without further ado, let's begin!

#5 Chelsea

Chelsea-
Chelsea-bound?

According to Don Balon, Roman Abramovich is looking at Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi as a means to sign a competitor for Alvaro Morata, a figure on whom Chelsea seem to be over-reliant these days.

There is more, however, as there are rumours surrounding the potential departure of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid. Apparently, there is no way that Abramovich would sell Eden Hazard to Real Madrid unless they give Chelsea Marco Asensio in return, who is valued at exactly the same amount as the Belgian, claim Don Balon.

Diario Gol, however, believe that Isco, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema are the ones that could be used in the deal to bring Hazard to Madrid.

#4 Liverpool

South Korea v Colombia - International Friendly
James'saga rolls on

Dani Ceballos joined Real Madrid amid much fanfare, especially because he had only just won the U21 Euro’s Player of the Tournament. His time at the Bernabeu, however, hasn’t been as he had hoped and now, Don Balon believe that the former Real Betis man could leave the Blancos for Liverpool, who are yet to spend the Philippe Coutinho money that they got from Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Don Balon have revealed the next destination of James Rodriguez after he leaves Bayern Munich. Apparently, a return to Real Madrid doesn’t interest him and he is looking to the move to the Premier League with Liverpool and Arsenal keen on him.

Finally, with the departure of Emre Can almost set in stone, Liverpool are eyeing Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama as his replacement, claim reports from The Daily Mail.

#3 Arsenal

France v Ivory Coast - International Friendly
Dembele to Arsenal seems to be picking pace

Despite making a move worth over a €100 million only last summer, Don Balon are linking Ousmane Dembele with a move out of Barcelona. Apparently, Messi is not an avid supporter of the Frenchman and has no problems in seeing the back of him with Arsenal being one of the clubs interested in him.

Wenger, however, will pay only €60 million for him, much akin to what was reported yesterday by the same outlet. There is another information in the same report, though, as they claim that Wenger’s top priority is bringing Karim Benzema to the Emirates.

Speaking of Benzema, Diario Gol state that he has asked Florentino Perez to lower his asking price from €60 million to €50 million so that clubs can sign him.

Finally, Arsenal are being linked to Timo Werner after he rejected a new deal from RB Leipzig, claim reports from The Sun.

#2 The Harry Kane domino effect

Tottenham Hotspur v A.F.C. Bournemouth - Premier League
The man on fire

Straight up, Real Madrid want Harry Kane so much that they are going to give him the number 10 jersey that is currently being worn by Luka Modric. So what of Modric, you ask? Well, according to Diario Gol, the Croatian will leave Real Madrid after the end of the season and will rejoin his old team: Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, Isco, who is rated at €100 million, could be used as a chip to bring down the price of the Englishman, say Diario Gol. On the other hand, Don Balon claim that Florentino Perez wants to offer £150 million plus Gareth Bale for the English striker.

Finally, should Kane join, he would become of the best-paid players at the club with a contract close to €20 million a year, claim Don Balon.

#1 Manchester madness

And so the biggest story of the day surrounds Manchester United and comes from Don Balon as the outlet claim that Neymar will leave Paris-Saint Germain should the French giants fail to win the Champions League.
