Matip willing to work hard to reclaim his place

Liverpool defender Joel Matip has fallen behind in the pecking order of center-backs at the Merseyside with him being behind even Dejan Lovren. As a result, there were suggestions that he could leave the club.

However, the player himself has declared that he is willing to fight for his position and play the season with Liverpool and that everything else apart from this is considered as a distraction.

“I only concentrate now on the season on Liverpool and there’s nothing else in my mind. Everything else would only distract me,” he said.
