A forlorn figure

Hello and welcome to the Premier League transfer roundup for the day. This is the first transfer roundup after Real Madrid’s third successive Champions League triumph and we are in here for a ride.

To summarise what you will be reading up ahead, there is a lot of commotion surrounding the mid-table clubs. In fact, the likes of Everton, West Ham, Bournemouth and Newcastle have totally adorned this roundup with their presence.

And then there are the usual suspects. Manchester United, Manchester City, Livepool, Arsenal and the likes have also been intertwined in this report due to some big rumours that have been generated by them.

So, without stalling any further, let’s begin!

#5 The midtable madness

There could be some more managerial changes in the Premier League as Everton may have a headache in terms of signing Marco Silva at the club. The Toffees recently sacked Sam Allardyce from the club and have targeted the former Watford manager to replace him.

However, according to Gazetta Dello Sport, Udinese could provide competition to the Merseyside outfit with a late swoop for the in-demand manager, who is currently without a job after being sacked by Watford.

Over at West Ham, Manuel Pellegrini is set to steward a new era at the London outfit. In this age and time, however, every manager needs funds to succeed – and the Chilean is no different.

According to this report from football.london, Pellegrini might be given £50 million to £75 million, which could be even more with sales of players. The report names four players that West Ham could sell in the form of Sam Bryam, Jordan Hugill, Edimilson Fernandes and Andy Carroll.

They have also been touted with a firm interest for Ryan Fredericks.

Over at Bournemouth, according to a report from The Sun on Sunday (27 May, 2018, page 65), Leeds could sell Tom Pearce to Bournemouth for the right price. The latter are set to test the resolve of Leeds with a £2 million bid for the talented left-back, who has been great for his very consistent for his club in the chances that he was given.

Ever since the arrival of Unai Emery, Arsenal have been linked with moves for many players. With the essential baseline being the tag of ‘first signing of the Emery era’, another player has been linked with a move to North London.

According to Evening Standard, Juventus’ 34-year-old full-back Stephen Lichtsteiner is going to be Unai Emery’s first signing as the former Paris Saint-Germain boss wants to sign him on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United are in the roundup today because of their supposed interest in Kerim Mrabti, who plays for Djurgardens IF, and could make a move for him in the summer, according to Mirror’s live transfer blog.

#3 A bit of Milinkovic-Savic

SS Lazio v FC Internazionale - Serie A
On United's radar

Manchester United’s transfer rumours over the course of the last two-three months only point towards one thing: they are actively looking for a central midfielder. They are yet to fill up the void of Michael Carrick and, as a result, have been linked with a quite a few midfielders.

Among them, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a name constantly linked with the Red Devils. However, the Old Trafford outfit have put their interest on hold after Laziomade a demand of €100 million for their star, say The Guardian.

Meanwhile, they also add that the Red Devils are in advance talks to sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk. This saga seems to have gone too long already.

#2 Manchester madness ft. Liverpool

Real Madrid v Liverpool - UEFA Champions League Final
Vazquez on Klopp's radar

So here we are. Both the Manchester club feature in this section as Daily Mail claim that Manchester City are close to agreeing a £75 million deal to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City.

The Etihad outfit could have signed him in the last window but Leicester refused to sell him, after which the player went on a strike. So it seems that he might finally get his move this summer.

Meanwhile, Don Balon state that Jurgen Klopp is targeting three players from La Liga in a bid to strengthen the Merseyside outfit. Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez, Real Betis’ Fabian Ruiz and Espanyol’s Aaron Martin are on his radar and could cost him a combined €110 million.

#1 Rumour of the day

Real Madrid v Liverpool - UEFA Champions League Final
Looks unhappy

Cristiano Ronaldo dropped a bombshell after last night’s Champions League final against Liverpool. While his team-mates were celebrating on one side, he revealed that he will talk to the club about his future soon, suggesting that he could leave in the summer.

“In the coming days you will have my answer to the fans, the ones who have really been on my side. It has been very nice being at Real Madrid,” he said.

And now, Don Balon claim that Cristiano Ronaldo is angry with the club’s pursuit of Neymar. He also wants a better deal from Florentino Perez and could leave for Manchester United should his ‘request’ not be fulfilled.
