After a grueling season, it is time for the teams to evaluate their failures and make amends. As is the trend right now, they will mainly focus on big-money signings to patch up any faulty zones.
Summarising the content ahead of us, we have news about West Ham, a lot of Manchester – by a lot, I mean A LOT – and some bits and pieces about Liverpool.
So, without beating around the bush any further, let’s begin!
#5 West Ham and Milinkovic-Savic
Amidst the Manchester madness, we may have forgotten the number of times West Ham United have featured in these roundups. While they might not have been as active here as the Manchester clubs, they have held their own against the high and mighty.
Today, ITK ExWHUemployee states that West Ham have made their first signing under Manuel Pellegrini in the form of Mario Husillos, who is expected to be the new director of football for the Hammers.
Meanwhile, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a player that finds himself regularly in the transfer news. After having an astute season with Lazio, interest in him has flared up as clubs like Real Madrid, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United have been linked.
Among them, however, the Red Devils lead the chase as the Old Trafford outfit have made their first bid for the player. According to Radio Sei, Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United have made a €120 million bid for the highly-rated midfielder.
They also add that Lazio will not be selling him for such a price as they will only negotiate if the offer is at least €150 million with bonuses. Milinkovic-Savic played 48 matches for Lazio this season and scored 14 goals and provided 6 assists as well.
#4 The want for Madrid players
All through the season, Karim Benzema’s poor form was the sole focus surrounding the Frenchman. However, his performances in the semi-final and final of the Champions League – where he forced both the Bayern and Liverpool goalkeepers, respectively, to make errors and let him score – have somewhat shot him back into the spotlight - in a good way this time.
Florentino Perez, according to Diario Gol, is aware of this and has, as a result, increased his asking price for the Frenchman. He now wants €80 million for his favourite French striker with clubs like PSG, Inter, Milan, Arsenal and Chelsea interested suitors.
Meanwhile, in another report by the same outlet, his Real Madrid team-mate Isco has decided that his future is not in Madrid next year. He has an offer from Manchester City and is considering accepting it. The only thing Florentino Perez asks for in return for his prized Spaniard is €80 million.
#3 The want for Cristiano Ronaldo
It seems as though Real Madrid players are the hottest property in the transfer market. They might have just won the Champions League but most of them are already on their way out if reports are believed.
According to Diario Gol, Cristiano Ronaldo has an agreement in place with Manchester United, who are waiting for him with open arms. Money won’t be a problem with Chevrolet chipping in with their financial power.
Meanwhile, Don Balon say that Ronaldo is aware of Manchester United’s interest in him. However, they are not the only ones vying for his signature as PSG are also in the hunt.
Lorius Karius’ performance in the final of the Champions League against Real Madrid sparked a lot of criticism as well as sympathy. The truth, however, is that the Reds need a better goalkeeper and they have already begun the hunt for it.
The Guardian reveal that Jurgen Klopp has decided to renew his interest in Roma’s Alisson but his high-price could make Liverpool focus their attention towards Jan Oblak, who has a €100 million release clause.
The report further adds that Liverpool are going to make an offer of up to £60 million for Nabil Fekir of Lyon.
Finally, there is some update for Liverpool fans regarding their club’s supposed pursuit of Lucas Vazquez. According to Don Balon, Jurgen Klopp has failed in his pursuit of Vazquez who will stay at Madrid next season despite not featuring in the final against Liverpool
#1 All about Bale
There are a LOT of rumours surrounding Gareth Bale as the Welshman looks all but out of Real Madrid in the summer. The Guardian reveal that Jose Mourinho and Manchester United have been put on alert after Manchester City have shown no interest in the Welshman.
Meanwhile, Diario Gol added further fuel to the fire by claiming that the Welshman could be sold with his asking price increased to €150 million. Alternatively, he could be used as a bargaining chip to bring Harry Kane to Real Madrid while sending the Welshman back to Spurs.
Finally, The Sun state that Manchester United are ready to move for £200 million-rated Bale in the summer as his days at the Bernabeu seem numbered.
With this, Manchester United have been linked with three star players today - Bale, Cristiano and Milinkovic-Savic - worth around £500 million.
