Premier League transfer news: Ter Stegen to Manchester United, Bale thinks Tottenham move a ‘step back’ and more – 25 February 2018

Real Madrid Celebrate After They Win Champions League Final
Isco and Bale are heavily linked out of Madrid

Hello and welcome to the transfer roundup for the day for February 25, 2018. The top clubs have stolen all the news as we some new rumours on the cards. Let's begin!

#5 Mixed bag

Just so many Chelsea rumours today as the Blues are apparently going to ask for Sergio Aguero in return for Eden Hazard should Manchester City approach them for the Belgian, say Daily Star.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are monitoring the situation of Tottenham’s midfield powerhouse Victor Wanyama, with Chelsea and Manchester United also interested, say Daily Mail.

According to The Sun, a host of top clubs are after the signature of RB Leipzig star Timo Werner with Arsenal joining Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool in the race for the German forward. Finally, with no contract renewal up in sight, Luke Shaw is being eyed by Arsenal and Chelsea.

#4 Chelsea

France v Ivory Coast - International Friendly
A rough start to career in Spain

They may have failed to take their chances and win against Barcelona, but Chelsea could still get one of them in the form of Ousmane Dembele. The Frenchman hasn’t had a great start to his Barcelona career and could be shipped out on loan for a sizeable fee of €15 million as he has told the Blaugrana that he wants to go to Chelsea on a year-long basis, say El Gol Digital.

Meanwhile, Evening Standard are linking the Stamford Bridge outfit with Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles to add cover to their backline since both Gary Cahill and David Luiz will turn 33 and 31, respectively, this year. Lascelles has also been linked with Arsenal as per Daily Star.

#3 Liverpool

SSC Napoli v Spal - Serie A
Jorginho is being linked to Liverpool

We have quite a lot on Liverpool today as The Sun believes that the Reds are looking at Lewis Cook to replace the departing Emre Can in a deal worth £20 million.

Meanwhile, The Times' Paul Joyce claims that Liverpool have made Napoli’s Jorginho their number one target in the summer, who is also on the radar of Manchester United. He also added in the column that Liverpool are looking for a replacement for Philippe Coutinho and also a goalkeeper.

There is, however, another claim that the Merseyside outfit have dropped their interest in Roma’s Alisson for the time being.

#2 The option with Gareth Bale

Real Madrid v Deportivo Alaves - La Liga
Bale had a good game against Alaves

It seems as though Gareth Bale is somewhat of a problem at Real Madrid—at least according to what the outlets say—as Diario Gol have stated that both Isco and Marco Asensio are waiting for the Welshman to be sold.

There is interest from Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea for the former Malaga man while Marco Asensio isn’t lacking from interest either, with both Liverpool and Juventus keen on the young star.

Perez, however, isn’t lowering his £90 million asking price for the former Spurs man, but no big club are willing to play more than £60 million for him. Spurs are interested in bringing him back, but the Welshman thinks that joining them would be a step back.

#1 Manchester madness

Barcelona v AS Roma - Pre Season Friendly
Ter Stegen is a world-class goalkeeper

Real Madrid’s pursuit of David de Gea might go on to haunt Barcelona as according to Don Balon, the Red Devils have a backup plan should they let De Gea go: Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Los Blancos are willing to pay United’s asking price of €100 million for the Spanish goalkeeper, which will make Manchester United look at the German goalkeeper as the replacement.

Indeed, in a report from the same website, the Red Devils have placed a €100 million price tag on him, which Florentino Perez is trying to lower by adding players.

Meanwhile, the same outlet also states that Manchester United will make a €200 million offer for Isco while also giving him €20 million-a-year in wages.
