Preview : Pro Evolution Soccer 2015

The latest edition of the PES franchise, Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 is set for a release on November 13th for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. FIFA 15 is already out and has received amazing response from all over the world. In such a scenario, much is expected out of its ultimate rival, PES 2015. Here in this preview of PES 2015, we have all that you need to know about the game and all what you should be expecting from the game.

The last few games from the PES franchise have been more or less disappointing when compared to their FIFA counterparts, overpowered in terms of gameplay and the overall feel of the game. Even Konami has admitted that it had taken its eye off the ball, focusing on fairly insignificant enhancements which ultimately saw the gameplay lose out. This time around, the game seems to be right up there with FIFA 15 on most grounds, if not all.

In-Game Features

The game has got its crispness back with apt integration of next-gen visuals with pretty sleek gameplay. Significant improvements have been made from its last edition, with improved behavioural patterns, better player faces, enhanced animation and realistic atmosphere and lighting. Also, PES now has the same degrading pitch, updated lighting and enhanced gameplay as FIFA 15. Running on the FOX engine, the same graphics engine as Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and the new Silent Hill, PES 2015 seems slick, highly animated and more dynamic than ever.

Gameplay

There are new game modes along with the classic ones with extra leagues coming to the game. You’ll get a version of the Championship and Premiership leagues as well as others when the game comes out. Moreover, the game will see the addition of live updates from the real world which will affect player performances in the game. That is a massive improvement in terms of the realism it will provide and the additional vibe it brings in to the game. Considering gameplay, there have been improvements with the addition of new features, skills and tactics, but none too significant to be called good enough, as evident from the experiences at E3 and Gamescom.

Much can be expected from the game as the developers had quite some time to rectify glitches and remove any shortcomings in the game. There was a long three month gap between the E3 and GamesCom releases. In the meantime, the game came a long way. The game was nothing like what was on display initially, with the GamesCom release being way better than what the Japanese developer had on show at E3 in June. From the experiences at GamesCom, it looks like PES 2015 is going to be more on par with FIFA 15 than it was originally predicted. Hence, it should be interesting to see how the two compare on the charts once they are both released.

It seems Konami’s latest edition of the football simulator might just live up to its previous chart topping fame with all the new-gen improvements and the inclusion of several advanced features in the game. The release date isn’t too far now and the anticipation building around the game is immense. With the game releasing within the next 7 days, it will be interesting to see whether or not does the game live up to its billing and be a real competition for its much decorated counterpart, FIFA 15.
