After Arsenal bowed out of the race to sign Wilfried Zaha, Everton have been looking to engineer a deal to bring the Ivory Coast international to Goodison Park. Everton have had an initial bid rejected following which there were reports that claimed that the Merseysiders were willing to offer £55 million in cash + Cenk Tosun and James McCarthy.

However, the Toffees have now denied this via an official statement.

"Everton Football Club categorically denies that a bid has been submitted to Crystal Palace for Wilfried Zaha that included an increased sum plus Cenk Tosun and James McCarthy.
"Everton and Crystal Palace have a very good relationship. A bid was made over the weekend which was turned down. Both Clubs agreed that was the end of the matter."

Meanwhile, midfielder Idrissa 'Gana' Gueye has swapped Merseyside for Paris. Gueye's long-awaited move to PSG has finally reached its completion. On joining the Ligue 1 champions, he said,

"I’m immensely proud to sign for Paris Saint-Germain."
"After focusing on the AFCON with Senegal, I wanted to give a new boost to my club career by joining PSG, one of the most structured and ambitious sports projects in Europe."
