#2 2017/18: The Three-peat
Coming off two UEFA Champions League titles in a row and 3 in 4 years, it was tough for Real Madrid and Ronaldo to really improve their achievements, but they did.
They started off the season well, with victories in UEFA Supercup versus Manchester United and Spanish Supercup against Barcelona. But Ronaldo picked up a suspension after a heated exchange with a referee saw him made contact with the collegiate and got him suspended for five games.
That did not help his first half of the year in La Liga, but in UCL the story was different. Ronaldo scored in every match of the group stage and his tally was at nine already.
Real Madrid won the Clubs World Cup in December with CR7 scoring two goals in two games, including the game-winner versus Brazil's Gremio two weeks after claiming his The Best trophy and his fifth Ballon d'Or.
In the UCL, Real Madrid had to face the heavily favoured PSG with Neymar in the front. But on February 14th, Ronaldo showed, once again, his love for the UCL. The number 7 scored three goals in the two matches against PSG and Madrid got through, only to face more competition in the quarterfinals.
With a rematch of the 2017 final, Real Madrid got Juventus in the best of eight stage, but Ronaldo was just too much for the Italian's champs to overcome. The Portuguese scored three more goals in the series vs Juventus, with an amazing bicycle kick included in the first leg at Turin, which saw the Italian crowd give a standing ovation to Ronaldo.
In the semifinals and the final, he could not increase his 15 goals tally in the tournament, but his presence was enough to see Real Madrid conquered La Decimotercera and get their Three-peat, the first in the European Cup since 1976. CR7 ended the year with 44 goals in 44 matches and 7 assist at 33 years old.
